Introduction: Business building methods

There are billions of businesses in the world. Many of them are very similar but every business is unique in its own way. How you go about building your business will depend on many different factors. Thus there are different methods to starting, building, and managing a business. Some of these methods have been used for hundreds of years and others have only been innovated in the last 30 years. We don’t have time to dive deep into every single method of building a business but having a strong, high-level understanding will serve you well when the time comes to starting your business. The two major methods we are going to look at are: business planning and the business canvas model with a variation referred to as lean methodology. We will start with a brief history of each followed by looking at the important features that make them unique.
