Who or what is an entrepreneur?

A quick search on google, our global dictionary (laughs) returns over 2.2 billion results on the word entrepreneur. 

An entrepreneur can basically described as “a person who sets up a business or businesses taking on a financial risk in the hopeof profit”. Simply put, an entrepreneur is someone who starts their own business, especially when this involves seeing new opportunity and taking risks” according the the cambridge dictionary.

There are many other synonyms for an entrepreneur, including: a businessman or a businesswoman, a business person, a trader, a merchant, a business executive, retailer, wholesaler, importer, distributor, a buyer and seller, a speculator, a hustler, middleman, intermediary etc. All these people re involved with entrepreneurship. They setup and/or run a business with the motive of making a profit.

Becoming an entrepreneur is easy. Some will say entrepreneurship is not for everyone, especially because it involves taking risks. It takes a lot of skills and knowledge to be successful as an entrepreneur. 

In this short introductory course, we want help you understand the level of entrepreneurship in you, so you can make the judgement on how mch effort you may require, if you decide to go into entrepreneurship.
